Does Kuremara provide complex care on the Gold Coast?
Yes. Kuremara is an NDIS-registered provider of High Intensity Daily Personal Activities delivering complex care across the Gold Coast, Queensland – including Southport, Robina, Burleigh Heads, Coomera and surrounding suburbs – in participants’ own homes and in supported accommodation.
What counts as high intensity support under the NDIS?
The NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors cover complex bowel care, enteral (PEG/PEJ/nasogastric) feeding, severe dysphagia management, tracheostomy management, urinary catheter management, ventilation, subcutaneous injections and epilepsy/seizure management. Only providers registered for High Intensity Daily Personal Activities may deliver them.
Do you provide PEG feeding support on the Gold Coast?
Yes. Our support workers are trained and competency-assessed by a registered nurse to deliver bolus and pump enteral feeds, flush and care for the tube site, give medication via tube and respond to blockages or dislodgement, following a nurse-written enteral feeding plan and your dietitian’s regime.
Can I get 24-hour care at home on the Gold Coast?
Yes, if your NDIS plan funds it. We build a small, stable team of four to six workers for 24-hour rosters, with active (awake) overnight shifts for ventilated or seizure-prone participants and 2:1 support for transfers where needed. If your plan does not yet fund 24-hour care, we help gather the clinical evidence for a reassessment.
Who trains and supervises the support workers?
A Kuremara registered nurse assesses you, writes task-specific care plans, trains your workers on your equipment and routines, and signs off their competency before they work unsupervised. The same nurse reviews your care at least every three months and whenever your needs change.
How is complex care funded in my NDIS plan?
Complex care is usually claimed under Core Assistance with Daily Life at the High Intensity rate, or within Supported Independent Living funding if you live in a supported home. Nurse assessments, care plans and worker training are typically funded under Community Nursing Care. We check your plan before starting and tell you exactly what is covered.
Can you support a hospital discharge on the Gold Coast?
Yes. We plan discharges with Gold Coast hospital and rehabilitation teams attending case conferences, training workers alongside ward staff, arranging equipment, and having the full roster in place before discharge. Urgent discharges are prioritised.
What is the difference between complex care and community nursing?
Community nursing is delivered by nurses through scheduled visits, assessments, wound care, medication reviews, and care planning. Complex care is the daily, often round-the-clock delivery of high-intensity tasks by trained support workers working to that nurse’s plan. Most complex care participants use both.
